Purpose: To provide a strong understanding of the various types of dementia, neuropsychiatric symptom development, and recommended management strategies for patients with dementia.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe the epidemiology, pathophysiology, and clinical presentation of neuropsychiatric symptoms in patients with dementia.
- Identify nonpharmacologic strategies to prevent or reduce neuropsychiatric symptoms in patients with dementia.
- Evaluate the efficacy and safety of pharmacologic options for treating neuropsychiatric symptoms in patients with dementia.
