Background

In August 2019, the State of Illinois passed Public Act 101-0278, requiring the establishment of an evidence-based, non-commercial education program for Medicaid prescribers consisting of web-based curriculum and academic educator outreach. As a result of this legislation, the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services partnered with the University of Illinois at Chicago Retzky College of Pharmacy to provide drug information and academic detailing services through Illinois ADVANCE.

During the Visit

In the academic detailing visit, one of our clinical pharmacists gets to know you and your practice. Using a topic brochure as a guide, the conversation focuses on a customized educational experience. The brochure reviews clinical guidelines and literature, while also being visually engaging and reinforcing key messages. Dense concepts become understandable and straightforward.
