Purpose: To increase the healthcare provider’s knowledge of the RSV disease, the newly available RSV vaccines, vaccine candidacy, and current guideline recommendations on RSV vaccination as a preventative strategy

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the pathogenesis, epidemiology, and clinical presentation of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)
  • Discuss and compare the currently available RSV vaccines, including mechanisms of action, dosing/administration, and safety considerations
  • Review clinical evidence and current guideline recommendations supporting RSV vaccination in different populations
  • Given a patient case, provide an appropriate recommendation on RSV vaccination
