Christina received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy. Her Clinical Pharmacy and Specialized Drug Information residencies were completed at University of Illinois/Humana Michael Reese hospitals and a geriatrics mini-Fellowship was completed at University of Illinois at Chicago. Christina is a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). She recently trained with experts at NaRCAD to enhance skills as an academic detailer. Christina’s interest in pharmacy stemmed from independent retail pharmacy with nursing home consulting. Christina was an inaugural faculty member at Midwestern University Chicago College of Pharmacy, where she developed and taught drug information, pharmacotherapy, and elective courses. Christina created a diabetes and geriatrics-focused clinical practice at Chicago Osteopathic Medical Center and worked at the Drug Information Center at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Christina has also worked as a Director of Drug Intelligence and a Medication Management Director at the group purchasing organization, Premier. In 2012, Christina joined the Medication Review and Academic Detailing (MRAD) unit at the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy. In her current role, Christina conducts drug utilization review, staffs the Illinois Department of Health and Family Services Drug Utilization Review Board, instructs students at the UIC College of Pharmacy, authors publications and continuing education programs, and serves as an academic detailer with Illinois Advance. Christina’s interests include education, diabetes, geriatrics, drug information, drug utilization review, and interprofessional collaborative care to enhance patient outcomes.
