Academic Detailing

Our Mission

We are committed to developing collaborative relationships with healthcare professionals and providing current best evidence drug information to improve prescribing and interdisciplinary care.

Background

In August 2019, the State of Illinois passed Public Act 101-0278, requiring the establishment of an evidence-based, non-commercial education program for Medicaid prescribers consisting of web-based curriculum and academic educator outreach. As a result of this legislation, the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services partnered with the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy to provide drug information and academic detailing services through Illinois ADVANCE.

Our pharmacists empower clinicians with the latest evidence to make well-informed, patient-centered prescribing decisions. Best of all it’s free, we do it on your schedule, and we don’t take up too much of your valuable time!

Academic detailing is a unique, interactive, one-on-one, tailored education approach for each healthcare professional. Our pharmacists are trained to provide practical, up-to-date drug information to assist clinicians in making evidence-based prescribing decisions for their patients.
